SAN ANTONIO -- This was no ordinary victory for Paul George and the Indiana Pacers. They know how difficult it is to beat the San Antonio Spurs. George scored 28 points and Indiana defeated San Antonio 111-100 on Saturday night, snapping an 11-game skid against the Spurs. "It means a lot," George said. "We havent won here since 2002. So it definitely means that were onto something. Something great is going on in here, if we just continue to keep on this path, we have a positive future." David West had 20 points and Lance Stephenson scored 15 for the Pacers, who enjoyed a 41-34 rebounding edge. Roy Hibbert and Luis Scola each had 12 points and 10 boards. "I couldnt be happier with how they played, particularly in the second and third quarter," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "Second quarter, getting back in the game, but in the third quarter, really busting it open. Tough to pick a star in the game with as many contributions as we got. Just great balance and a great team win." Kawhi Leonard scored 18 points for San Antonio, which has dropped three of five. Manu Ginobili added 16 points, Tony Parker had 13 and Tim Duncan finished with 10. Indiana had lost 12 straight in San Antonio and appeared headed for a bakers dozen early on. Ginobilis 3-pointer with 9:46 remaining in the first half gave the Spurs a 35-22 lead. It was their largest lead, but also the start of the teams fall as the Pacers starting five overwhelmed their counterparts. "We give a lot of credit to Indiana," Parker said. "They just played better than us." Indiana closed the first half on a 30-18 run and opened the second half with a 12-2 spree. "We had a good first quarter," Duncan said. "Second quarter they started making some shots and we werent able to keep up. We went cold, they heated up and got a little lead there. We just couldnt recover." Georges 3 gave the Pacers an 85-62 lead with 46.3 seconds left in the third. He was 4 for 4 from long range and also had six assists. George had nine points in the third quarter, and the teams starters had all but two of Indianas points in a 35-17 period. "We knew it was a long game," George said. "This is one team that never thinks were out of a game, no matter what the circumstances are. But we knew that we had to get stops and we had to match their energy." San Antonio held a 23-8 edge in second-chance points and a 34-26 advantage in points in the paint, but Indiana attempted 22 more free throws. The Pacers went 26 for 28 at the line, compared to 5 for 6 for the Spurs. "If you lose, you were less aggressive, and you didnt have the effort; thats all baloney," San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said. "Thats psycho-babble. You dont think Patty Mills and those guys played hard? You dont think Timmy tried to play hard? Thats silly. They played better than we did. Its got nothing to do with effort." NOTES: The Pacers last victory against the Spurs was 100-99 on April 1, 2007, in Indianapolis. Their last victory in San Antonio was 92-82 on Jan. 4, 2002. ... Spurs C Tiago Splitter in the first half with tightness in his left calf. Splitter was questionable to play due to the calf injury, but got the start anyway. He finished with two points and two rebounds in eight minutes. ... San Antonio had not played since a 102-100 victory over Atlanta. Wednesdays game against Minnesota in Mexico City was postponed due to an electrical fire. ... Before a free throw late in the game, a fan yelled to referee Bill Kennedy, "Did they run out of medium and large shirts?" The muscular Kennedy turned to the crowd with a bemused look and smiled. Odell Beckham Jr Giants Jersey . This is not some token job for a prominent, popular former player. All of those areas need a lot of work, so Molitor is going to be busy. "Hes certainly got a history and knowledge and a high baseball IQ," general manager Terry Ryan said. Daniel Jones Womens Jersey . -- The Atlanta Braves added to their extensive wave of long-term deals with their young stars on Sunday by agreeing to a $42 million, four-year contract with All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel. http://www.authenticnygiantspro.com/Dexter-lawrence-giants-jersey/ . The Spanish champions decision not to sign a defender during the January transfer window may have backfired after Valencia took advantage of a lethargic, uninspired effort by its hosts at the Camp Nou, where former Spain coach Luis Aragones -- who previously coached the Catalan side -- was honoured after his death on Saturday. Custom New York Giants Jerseys . Pikul Khueanpet scored early in the second half and Kanjana Sungngoen made it 2-0 in the 65th minute of the playoff. Mark Bavaro Youth Jersey . - Diego Fagundez scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season in the 76th minute to lift the Revolution to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night that kept New Englands playoff hopes alive.JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonvilles Cecil Shorts best season as an NFL pass receiver could be coming to a premature end. The Jaguars third-year pro has been hampered with a groin injury for much of the season. He played through the pain and had started the first 13 games, but in Sundays game against Buffalo, was listed as an inactive. On Monday, Shorts said the smartest thing to do was to shut it down for this year and look ahead to next season. "Probably," Shorts said with a laugh. "Thats the best thing. We have an idea of what were going to do. I dont want to speak on it right now but thats probably the best thing for it, honestly. "Im just trying to stay positive. If the decision is made when we talk about it that Im done for the year, then thats the case." Shorts was not able to practice much on Friday. He said he ran four or five plays and it wasnt good. He later confirmed that he would need to have surgery to repair the injured area. "I didnt feel any power or explosiveness in there. It was very tough to do anything and there was a whole lot of pain," he said. "I knew then that I couldnt play on Sunday." On Monday, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley stopped short of saying the team would place Shorts on injured reserve in order to have the surgery and get an early start on the rehab process. "Cecil is not improving," Bradley said. General manager "Dave (Caldwell) and I will sit down and discuss this with Cecil later on today or tomorrow where hes at. "I think we have more concern with the injury now. When Cecil talks to us as coaches and what hes feeling, hes such a strong competitor and wants to play, but the longer were around him, you can sense when its really bothering him. And I think hes at that point right now." Shorts has caught a career-best 66 passes this season, surpassing his previous best of 55 a year ago. He has 777 yards, behind only the 971 yards he had last year. He was one of four Jaguars starters who missed Sundays game with the Bills. Leading ruusher Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring), offensive guard Will Rackley (concussion) and strong safety Johnathan Cyprien were also on the inactive list for the Buffalo game.dddddddddddd Bradley indicated that all three would be re-evaluated on Wednesday to determine their status for the rest of the week and for Sundays home season-finale against Tennessee. The injury-plagued Jaguars added two more names to their list from Sundays game with Buffalo. Guard Mike Brewster who took Rackleys place in the lineup, fractured his left ankle and is out for the rest of the season. In addition, linebacker Russell Allen who has started all but one game this year, suffered a concussion and will now follow NFL concussion protocol. Bradley lamented the teams poor play in the second quarter in Sundays 27-20 loss to the Bills. He cited the fact thats when the team gave up 17 of Buffalos 27 points, 102 of the Bills 198 yards rushing, the Jaguars had nine of their 14 missed tackles and allowed four of their 10 explosive plays. "A lot of stats like that showed up that (tells us) we did not play very well in the second quarter," Bradley said. "Now, coming out of it, we tightened up some things starting in the third quarter with better tackling, and we were better with our techniques. They had a combined 58 yards rushing, 70 yards passing and seven points in the third and fourth quarters." Offensively, Bradley harped on missed opportunities to score. Rookie running back Denard Robinson fumbled at the goal line just before he was to complete a 25-yard run into the end zone early in the third quarter. The Jaguars also had a first-and-goal at the 1-yard line with four minutes left in the game and trailing by seven points. But two plays later, Chad Henne threw an interception in the end zone. Shorts groin injury prevented him from playing in Sundays 27-20 Jaguars loss to Buffalo, and could cause him to miss the teams final two games against Tennessee and Indianapolis. ___ Online: http://pro32.ap.org ' ' '
