SEATTLE -- If you need to know what motivates Hector Noesi, check the front of his cap. After going 7 1-3 strong innings in the Chicago White Soxs 10-inning 2-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night, Noesi put on a cap that read in front: Revenge NOE. The Mariners were the object of his attention. "When you dont believe in somebody, you need to show them," said Noesi, who was designated for assignment and eventually traded by Seattle to Texas this spring. The White Sox claimed him April 25 when the Rangers waived him. The White Sox ended their four-game losing streak on Conor Gillaspies RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning. With Jordan Danks on second base, Gordon Beckham reached when Seattle shortstop Chris Taylor booted his grounder. Danks advanced to third and scored when Gillaspie, who entered as a pinch-hitter in the eighth, hit a hard single to right off Fernando Rodney (1-5). "Its one of those tough ones where you dont really know if you should play through it," Taylor said, "or try to break down and get rid of it quick. I decided to play through and it ended up getting an in-between hop. I should have made the play." Noesi worked into the eighth to give the Sox the shot at a win. He allowed an unearned run and five hits with four strikeouts and a walk. "This is as good as hes pitched for us," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "He was throwing strikes, getting ahead early. He pitched great. He got us into the eighth." Noesi said when he arrived in Chicago, pitching coach Don Cooper "told me I can do it. Thats why Im getting better." It was Cooper who helped put his hat together. "I wear every time I face my former teams," he said. In four appearances against Seattle, he had gone 18 1-3 innings, not allowed a run and opponents were hitting .212 against him. In two seasons with Seattle, he was 2-14 with a 6.13 ERA in 36 appearances. "It was a good game. He pitched good. You have to give him credit," Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano said. "Really nothing else you can do in that situation. Hes one of those guys that pitches good against us and is good against any team." The loss ended the Mariners four-game winning streak. Eric Surkamp (1-0) got the last two outs of the ninth for the win and Jake Petricka worked the 10th to pick up his eighth save. James Paxton started for Seattle, his second outing since spending nearly four months on the disabled list with a strained left lat. He went 6 1-3 innings, allowing one run and six hits, striking out four. SWEET LOU ENSHIRNED Before the game, former manager Lou Piniella became the eighth member of the Mariners Hall of Fame. He managed from 1993 to 2002 and guided the club to its only four post-season appearances. Four players in the clubs HOF -- Alvin Davis, Edgar Martinez, Jay Buhner and Dan Wilson -- were on hand. Piniella gave an emotional 21-minute speech, breaking down to tears twice, once when talking about late broadcaster Dave Niehaus and at the end when thanking the fans for their years of support. "I thank you, salute you," he closed, "and will never forget you." TRAINERS ROOM Mariners: Utility player Willie Bloomquist had micro-fracture right knee surgery Friday and will not return this season. He will be on crutches for the next four to six weeks. White Sox: Outfielder Adam Eaton has a strained right oblique that necessitated a trip to the disabled list. Mark Melancon Jersey . -- Having already fallen behind because of the NFL lockout, Blaine Gabbert couldnt afford a lengthy holdout. Alex Jackson Jersey . The Braves optioned outfielder Jose Constanza to Triple-A Gwinnett. As expected, the Braves also called up right-hander Julio Teheran from Gwinnett to start Sundays game and optioned backup catcher J. http://www.custombravesjersey.com/custom-mike-soroka-jersey-large-1167z.html . Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers (5) – He had good saves on Giroux, Akeson, and Hartnell tonight. Biff Pocoroba Jersey .com) - Guard Greivis Vasquez and forward Patrick Patterson, two key pieces to the Toronto Raptors run to an Atlantic Division title in 2013-14, were both given qualifying offers by the team on Saturday. Alejandro Pena Jersey . MLB executive Joe Torre ruled on Tuesday nights game at Wrigley Field that was called after 4 1-2 innings. The Cubs were declared the winners by a 2-0 score. Now, it is instead a suspended game that will resume at 4:05 p.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kelvin Herrera and Wade Davis both gave up runs for the first time in nearly three months as the Kansas City Royals dominant bullpen was touched up Tuesday night in a 7-5 loss to the Chicago White Sox. Davis replaced Herrera with two on in the seventh inning and walked Jose Abreu to load the bases for Conor Gillaspie, who cleared them with a triple to right-centre on a 2-2 pitch to give Chicago a 7-5 lead. That ended Herreras scoreless streak at 30 2-3 innings, dating to June 24. Also snapped was Davis shutout streak of 31 2-3 innings, a club record for a reliever, with the first run charged to him since June 25. The rare bullpen failure prevented Kansas City from gaining ground on AL Central leader Detroit, which lost at Minnesota. The Royals remained 1 1/2 games behind the Tigers, but still lead Seattle for the second wild-card spot. Kansas City used nine pitchers, a club record for a nine-inning game, in a contest that lasted 4 hours, 16 minutes -- the longest nine-inning game in Royals history. Nori Aoki had his second straight four-hit game, including a sixth-inning single that put the Royals up 5-4, but this time the bullpen couldnt hold it. Adam Eaton had four hits, matching his career high, and scored two runs for Chicago. Royals manager Ned Yost went to his bullpen early when starter Liam Hendriks was pulled after three-plus innings. He gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk.dddddddddddd In his past three outings, Hendriks has allowed 11 runs and 18 hits in 9 1-3 innings. White Sox rookie right-hander Chris Bassitt also failed to make it out of the fourth. He threw 94 pitches in 3 2-3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and four walks. Eric Surkamp (2-0) got the win, and Zach Putnam worked a perfect ninth for his fifth save. TRAINERS ROOM White Sox: DH-1B Paul Konerko, who has not played since breaking his left hand on Sept. 2, took extended batting practice. "When hes fit to play hell get some time," manager Robin Ventura said. "I dont necessarily want him going out there not having swung a bat in two weeks. Hell get an at-bat here or there to acclimate him." Royals: LHP Danny Duffy, who skipped two starts because of a sore shoulder, threw a four-inning simulated game. "Theres nothing wrong," Duffy said. "I felt stronger than I did for about the past month." He is slated to start Monday in Cleveland. UP NEXT White Sox: LHP Chris Sale, an AL Cy Young Award contender, starts the series finale. He has trouble with Royals DH Billy Butler, who has a .359 career average against him with three home runs, two doubles and 10 RBIs in 39 at-bats. Royals: RHP Yordano Ventura has nine made consecutive quality starts, a club record for rookies. ' ' '
