WASHINGTON -- Milos Raonic will face Vasek Pospisil in Washington on Sunday in the first all-Canadian final matchup in ATP history. Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., downed American Donald Young in one semifinal on Saturday while Vancouvers Pospisil ousted Richard Gasquet of France in the other. Facing Milos Raonic for the first time, Young was wowed by the Canadians big serve. "Its like Monopoly," Young said. "He has a bunch of Get out of jail free cards." Powered by serves that reached 231 km/h and resulted in 15 aces, the second-seeded Raonic reached his first final of the season by beating Young 6-4, 7-5 at the Citi Open on Saturday. Raonic, from Thornhill, Ont., will face sixth-seeded Richard Gasquet of France or 13th-seeded Vasek Pospisil of Vancouver in Sundays final at the hard-court tune-up for the U.S. Open. "I did the most important thing: I took care of my serve," Raonic said. Thats for sure. Against Young, a left-handed American ranked 73rd, Raonic served impeccably, winning 34 of 37 first-serve points and never facing a break point. "Its one thing to look at him, but its another to be on the other side, receiving those things," said Youngs mother and coach, Illona. Explained Young, a 25-year-old from Atlanta: "Against a player like that, with a serve like that, its only going to be small windows. And you have to be there to take advantage and be Johnny on the spot -- and I wasnt able to do that today." Raonic broke Young in the last game of each set. "Im extremely satisfied to see him playing so well on the big points so early in the hard-court season," said Raonics coach, Ivan Ljubicic. Still seeking his first tour title, Young was in the semifinals of an ATP tournament for the first time since 2011. All five career titles for Raonic have come on hard courts. He was a semifinalist on grass at Wimbledon last month, becoming the first Canadian man to get to the final four at any Grand Slam tournament. His countryman Pospisil won a rain-interrupted quarter-final against 10th-seeded Santiago Giraldo of Colombia 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4 Saturday, then ousted Gasquet in three sets. The match between Pospisil and Giraldo began Friday night but was suspended after the first two points of the third set because of showers. "The rain delay didnt help me, for sure, because I felt like I was in a really, really good groove and had the momentum. He was down on himself a little bit," Pospisil said. "I felt like I had to go back from square one today, but I took that good confidence that I had at the end of the second set into the third today and was swinging freely." Pospisil, who teamed with Jack Sock to win the Wimbledon mens doubles title, beat Gasquet the only other time they played on tour, on a hard court in Shanghai last year. In the womens semifinals, Kurumi Nara of Japan dropped the first eight games before coming back to beat Marina Erakovic of New Zealand 0-6, 6-4, 6-4. The unseeded Nara reached the second WTA singles final of her career. Trailing by such a large margin early, Nara said she "was panicking" but then "tried to ... relax." On Sunday, Nara will face No. 2-seeded Ekaterina Makarova or No. 6 Svetlana Kuznetsova, a two-time Grand Slam title winner. Adidas Nmd Sneakers Style .J. On paper, it looks a little like Andre the Giant taking on a midget wrestler. It has all the makings of a rout with the Americans adding an eighth win in nine outings of this biennial event. Omar Rahou made the discriminatory gesture several times while celebrating scoring a goal against Romania at Antwerp in January, UEFA said. Or maybe he already did. Clark hit his first homer, Wily Peralta pitched into the seventh inning, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Miami Marlins 4-1 Wednesday night. WASHINGTON -- By the time Danny Espinosa hit his two-run homer in the eighth inning, there were only a couple of hundred fans left in the ballpark, almost all of them congregated behind the two dugouts. A couple of times there was an ad hoc chant-off between the ones in red down the first base line and those in blue on the other side. "You can hear every word at that point," Espinosa said. "Its like a back-field spring training game." Anthony Rendon hit a two-run homer in the first inning Monday night, and -- thanks to an odd-moving storm that produced an interminable rain delay -- Espinosa and the Washington Nationals didnt finish off the Los Angeles Dodgers until some six hours later on Tuesday morning, holding on for a 4-0 victory and gaining sole possession of first place in the NL East. Jordan Zimmerman pitched four shutout innings before the game was halted, and five relievers threw an inning apiece after play resumed. In between, there was an interruption of 3 hours, 17 minutes while a narrow, cigar-shaped storm took its time soaking D.C. and not much else. "You certainly wait around that long, you want to win the game," Nationals manager Matt Williams said. Aaron Barrett (2-0) got the win mainly because he happened to be Washingtons first reliever when play resumed. Zack Greinke (5-1) got a hard-luck first loss of the season, and plate umpire John Tumpane became the MVP for calling strikes and getting the game done in a reasonable hurry once the tarp was removed. There were four strikeouts before the delay, 16 after it. "We dont get off to a good start, they get a couple quick runs, and then obviously a three-hour delay in there and lose Zack," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "Really, we had chances, we just didnt do anything." The rain limited Greinke to three innings, ending a streak that had been unmatched for a century. He had 18 consecutive regular-season starts of at least five innings while allowing two runs or fewer -- the longest such run in the majors since 1914. "Its not really like its an important streak; no one really cares about it anyway," Greinke said. "If it was like a consecutive win streak or something more important than that, it would mean a little more." Dodgers slugger Yasiel Puig sat out the marathon, still sore after crashing into an outfield wall in the ninth inning of Sundays 5-4 road loss to thee Miami Marlins.dddddddddddd Manager Don Mattingly said Puig remained day to day and declined to say directly whether a concussion has been ruled out. Nationals left fielder Nate McLouth had his own crash-into-wall injury in the eighth inning, when he made a sliding backhand catch of a foul ball. Both hands and both knees hit the wall hard, and his right hand was bleeding as he walked off the field. Williams said McLouth wasnt seriously hurt. The cut didnt require stitches, although a banged-up knee will almost certainly be sore for a while. Zimmermann held the fort until the middle of the fourth, when the dozens of bags of sands poured on the infield by the grounds crew were no longer a match for the weather. The fans who stayed behind were treated to a scoreboard broadcast of their city-sports-brethren Washington Wizards winning an NBA playoff game. Also shown during the delay was the Atlanta Braves loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, which helped the Nationals vault into first in the division. The fans who remained when play resumed had unusually good odds when it came to chasing a foul ball, or catching a T-shirt tossed into the stands as part of a standard promotion. "Fans are going crazy," Zimmermann said. "Its a game, you have to play no matter how many fans are out there. The place wasnt exactly rocking, but it was a game we had to play."
